V5 Goes Green : Save Our Planet

Feb 21, Saturday - In collaboration with Majlis Perbandaran Perak Tengah (MDPT) and Bandar Universiti Residence Committee, V5 Goes Green : Save Our Planet has been successfully organized by Village 5 Student Representative (V5SR) and UTP International Student Council (ISC). The objective of this activity is to nurture the awareness of the residents in keeping the environment clean, green and free from detrimental infection bearer such as AEDES. Participated by almost 50 volunteers from UTP, the event was a great achievement to both V5SR and ISC as this is the first time that both of the student societies had its collaborated community service.

The event (locally known as gotong-royong), was also participated by almost 150 residents of Bandar Universiti and quite a number of volunteers from SK Sri Iskandar. The operation area was divided into four zones where each zone was supervised by the officers from Town Service and Health Division of MDPT.

The activity was started with a briefing by the President of Bandar Universiti Residence Committee, Encik Mustaffa. After three hours of sweat and teamwork, the volunteers gathered in the assembly point for the closing ceremony which Encik Mustaffa delivered an appreciation speech to all of the participating individuals. The activity was ended with a photo session around 11.30am. Below are the pictures taken during the event.
